How fancy is this plane?

We've been in the air about an hour and a half. Getting to know our surroundings.

We are very lucky in our seat placement. Right across the aisle from Jay Dickman, the expedition photographer and in front of Emilie Powell, the trip physician. This is Emilie's first NG trip and it's been fun to exchange stories, as she's a home town girl from Northwestern. This is Jay's 4th around the world trip, but he has done many trips and photo workshops for NG. We had a fun conversation about the importance of visual imagery in our lives (shout out to Evan) and the reason we like viewfinders to compose our shots. He's an Olympus man!! Has the newest model of my favorite SLR.

We were served champagne and Russian caviar as our first bite to eat - with a shell spoon and mini pancakes, sour cream, feta and finely chopped egg yolk, onions and chives.

My favorite luxury so far is a rose in the lavatory bathroom!
