Main street in the town of Lisse |
Saturday, April 23, 2022
Today we disembarked from the Aurora and took a taxi to the town of Lisse. Lisse is the town of Keukenhof Gardens, and is right in the center of the annual Dutch Flower Parade.
The 75th Bloemencorse Bollenstreek Flower Parade is taking place today. It will pass through downtown Lisse this afternoon at 3 PM. We are excited to have a front row view.

We checked into our hotel for the next two nights, the Boutique Suites of Lisse, and walked around town to check out the best place from which to watch the parade. We made friends with many of the spectators, including locals and people from as far away as southern Germany.
That evening, we had an excellent dinner at the Ristorante Il Mulino (Italian for Windmill Restaurant). The family that owns the place is Sicilian, and I had fun speaking Italian to our waitress.

Holding a parking space? Reminds me of Chicago. Hahaha... |
