Genever is traditionally served in tulip shaped glasses |
Friday, April 22, 2022
After our tour of the Jenever Museum and with full, new knowledge of how genever and gin is made, our group was treated to a taste testing. We were able to taste six different varieties of spirits, allowing comparison between the different processes, as well as various flavorings.
If we didn't drink the full amount in the tasting glass, our host Nehls tossed the remaining liquid from our glasses onto the brick floor of the tasting room. He said it was better than dumping it down the sink, and gives the tasting room a good aroma! Nehls was very generous in his pours, we we did have a fair amount left in the glasses.
