Monday, May 08 - Finishing the evening in the Golden Light
In the late afternoon on Monday we went out to sit on the terrace and watch the sun sink over
Volterra. We ordered an aperitif –
I think is was called a rosario – a
mixture of fresh strawberries and prosecco – and ordered a cheese and
charcuterie plate. After the
monster breakfast from this morning, it was all we needed – both for lunch and
dinner. We ended with an espresso
and stayed outside reading and writing until the sun set.
