Poppies, sheep and other countryside delights

Friday, May 12 – The pastoral scenes on our way home to the Villa

We had a full and enjoyable day - visiting the Tempio San Biagio, Pienza, the monastery of Sant'Anna in Camprena and the Abbazia di Monte Oliveto Maggiore. Feeling peaceful and happy, we headed back to Montepulciano around 6 PM. We passed a number of pastoral scenes, including a flock of sheep grazing in the evening.  The final highlight, after scenery all day long that was just awe inspring, was a field of bright red poppies.  When we got home, we read, napped, relaxed and ordered a tiramisu from room service for “dinner”.  We were able to face time with Liz, Caleb and Charlie for a little while.  Miss them all so much!
