Thursday, May 11 – The end of the day with a nice surprise!

| Celebration time! Let's break out that Prosecco |
It
was after 3 PM by the time we finished our relaxing lunch at Bagno Vignoni, and it was time to
head back to our Villa. The views
of Pienza and Montipulciano, driving east, are spectacular, especially in the
later afternoon sun. When we
arrived at the Villa, we opened our bottle of Prosecco and celebrated a lovely,
peaceful and relaxing day.

Later,
Michael took a quick trip to the grocery store and purchased items for dinner –
our first “picnic” while on this vacation. We had fresh bread, olives, thinly sliced cooked ham,
cheese, and apples. He even
purchased a small can of olive oil from the Villa Cicolina estate. Yum! We read, wrote, worked on photos and sat in the living room
while enjoying a night cap of espresso brought to us from the restaurant by our
cameriere, Danielle. It will be
hard to top this tomorrow!
