May 6, 2017 - On our way to Italy - Trying out United Polaris

We’re on our way! Non vedo
l’ora arrivare. We’re on an overnight flight to Rome and will arrive about
10:50 AM after an 8 and a half hour flight. We’re in the new United Polaris Business Class (Seats 10 J
& K). Really very nice – lots
of room, seats become flat lying beds, Saks Fifth Ave pillows and bedding.
The time difference is 7
hours, so we’ll be arriving at 4 AM Chicago time. I’m thinking I’ll watch a
movie and work on getting some sleep after our dinner is served.
Dinner was excellent, with
champagne to start, a tuna crudo and quinoa appetizer, roast beef short rib and
assorted sweets for dessert. I
watched “Deepwater Horizon” and then enjoyed a decent sleep for about 3 or 4
hours on the lie-flat seats that turn into beds.
