It's a gorgeous, sunny day this morning. So glad, as so far it's been grey and rainy most of the time. In fact, it's so nice, that we're able to have breakfast outside in the garden. It's our last morning here, as we leave for Tuscany this afternoon.
I'm a little nostalgic about leaving, as I don't think we'll return. I've loved staying here and have many special memories, but now have new places to explore in the future. Even if we return to Venice again (for a sixth visit!), it's time for some new experiences.
But I can't say enough about how special it is to be on this historic, serene island and to have everyone leave on the last boat at night, and to sit in the silence of the evening listening to the birds and the water of the canal and watch the moon rise over the thousand year old churches. It's an absolutely magical experience.
