Locanda Cipriani - our room and our dinner

We requested to stay in the small suite that overlooks the garden and the two historic churches at the Locanda Cipriani.  It's a small hotel (only 5 rooms) - and is open as a restaurant for lunch every day, and for dinner on weekends.  It's a special place - we noticed many people come for a celebratory meal.

Our suite has two rooms, with two balconies, and a large, modern bathroom.  The sitting room has a fireplace, with a table and two white wingback chairs. Waiting for us on the table was a fresh flower arrangement, and bottles of Prosecco and water.

As guests of the hotel, we have the option of dinner at the Locanda every evening.  And their food is delicious, based on our previous visits.

A nice welcome for our arrival

Happy guy!

Sleeping room with a second balcony to the right, overlooking the canal and quay.

Dinner (and breakfast) are often served outside, under the pergola.  But tonight, because of the rain, we were indoors.  Our table had a pretty Murano glass candle sleeve, as well as fresh flowers.  Michael had mixed grilled fish for dinner, and I had house made tagliatelle with duck ragu.  We started with pumpkin soup and zucchini flowers, fried and stuffed with prawns.  And shared a millefiore cream dessert.  A great ending to our first day in Venice.

Really like this Murano glass sleeve surrounding the candle.

Pumpkin soup with cured prosciutto and croutons

Stuffed zucchini blossoms with a green pesto sauce

A light and elegant dessert - shared over a final cup of espresso
